Pete Yu

Pete Yu is an experienced economic consultant based in San Diego, California. Mr. Yu has been engaged in matters involving intellectual property infringement, antitrust claims, labor economics, contract disputes, intangible asset valuations, and patent licensing strategy. He has experience in a variety of industries, including telecommunications, semiconductors, bond financing, streaming services, banking, consumer electronics, and video codecs. 

The following examples highlight Mr. Yu’s consulting projects and experience:

• Evaluation of reasonable royalties and lost profits damages in over 60 patent infringement cases;
• Analysis of economic damages due to alleged copyright infringement relating to subscription video on demand;
• Assessment of lost profits due to alleged breach of contract in several industries;
• Patent portfolio and company valuation relating to spatial computing;
• Corporate licensing strategy and economic analysis relating to video compression intellectual property.
• Evaluation of commercial success related to pharmaceutical products;
• Analysis of irreparable harm, balance of hardships, public interest, and bond analysis for ENDS products in ITC Investigation.

Mr. Yu authored the article “Adjusting patent royalty rates for inflation”, published in the IAM Media (Intellectual Asset Management) review .

Prior to Insight Economics, Mr. Yu worked in economic litigation consulting, investment banking, and research at the Wharton School. He graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a BA in Economics and has passed the CFA Level 1 and 2 exams.
